Zubair Baig
Zubair, tell us a bit about yourself. What do you do, and what does a typical day in your life look like?

I am a senior lecturer of cyber security at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Australia.

I would start out a typical day in my life with a quick skim through my mailbox and prioritizing my responses based on several factors. I would then head out to my work place. If there's a teaching commitment for the day, I would prepare for my lectures and labs and update the online course material and/or announcements for students.

I set aside around an hour to keep myself at pace with the latest research trends in my discipline. I conduct research training for graduate students and help them prepare their findings for publication. I also actively involve myself in leadership activities including coordination of courses and desigining of new course material.   more ...

Oleg Skulkin
Oleg, tell us a bit about your background. How did you get into digital forensics?

About 6 years ago I was hired by my local police department's forensic lab. The funny thing is - I should have become a forensic linguist, but finally started doing digital forensics, as there were lots of cases and only one examiner, so I'd become the second. Very soon it became my main interest.   more ...

Thomas Barton
Thomas, tell us a bit about yourself - what's your background, what are you studying at the moment, and how did you become interested in digital forensics?

I have always been interested in engineering, electronics, and computing from a young age. By the time I reached sixth form I knew I wanted to go into computing, but still had no direction. I saw a lot of people interested in gaming, coding and networking, but none of it really appealed to me. It was at a careers fair, I heard the words "digital forensics", which caught my attention, and for a project I did an investigation into the extraction of data from used electronics.   more ...

Amber Schroader, CEO & Founder, Paraben

Amber Schroader
Amber, you're the Founder and CEO of Paraben. What first drove you to start the company?

I had been in the digital forensics space for over 10 years prior to Paraben doing digital forensics. When I first started Paraben, it was a shareware company and when I took over as CEO, we moved to be a digital forensics company since that was my background. This space was always the one I wanted to develop tools for; it is the closest I can get to being Wonder Woman.   more ...
